OUR STORY
My name is Marlin LeFever, and Addicted Fishing started with something that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember: fishing.I didn't have the easiest childhood. I spent part of my younger years in the foster care system, and fishing became an escape for me. It gave me somewhere to go, something positive to focus on, and eventually a passion that would shape nearly every part of my life.That connection became even more meaningful as I got older.I lost both of my parents and my brother to drug addiction and overdose. Growing up around addiction, I saw firsthand what drugs could do to people and families. Somehow, I never went down that road myself.I found a different addiction. I was addicted to fishing.Fishing gave me something to chase. It gave me friendships, adventure, purpose, and a place to get away from everything else happening in life. Looking back, I truly believe fishing helped keep me on a different path.That's why the name Addicted has always meant more to me than simply being obsessed with catching fish. It represents becoming addicted to something positive: the outdoors, adventure, friendship, family, learning, and the pursuit of that next fish.WHERE IT ALL STARTEDIn 2009, I started what was originally called Fishing Addicts Northwest.But I didn't build it alone.Some of my closest fishing friends were there from the beginning: Lonny Brooks, Shaun Keller, Phil Rudat, Cody Lindberg, and Rob McIlroy.Before there were employees, sponsors, products, podcasts, or big fishing productions, we were simply a group of buddies who loved fishing. We fished together, shared information, created content, and tried to help other anglers become better fishermen.Little by little, a community started forming around it.Not long after those early days, Lucas Holmgren came on board and became an important part of helping me turn Fishing Addicts Northwest into something more. Lucas helped shape the website, pursue sponsorships and partnerships, and helped me begin figuring out how the community we were building could become a sustainable business.We didn't have some master plan.We were figuring it out as we went.BUILDING ADDICTEDAs the community grew, so did the team.People like Cameron Black, Jordan Knigge, Nick Popov, Big Dave Manners, Jason Harmsen, and many others brought their own fishing knowledge, personalities, ideas, and experience into Addicted.Behind the camera, even more people helped build it. Videographers, editors, marketing staff, product developers, warehouse employees, friends, and family have all played a part.Today, even my wife Sharon and daughter Hailey are part of the company.What started with a handful of friends in the Pacific Northwest has grown into fishing videos and films, educational content, podcasts, events, tackle and apparel, partnerships throughout the fishing industry, and a community of anglers that reaches far beyond where we started.But through all of that growth, the purpose has stayed remarkably simple.EDUCATE. ENTERTAIN. INSPIRE.WHAT BEING ADDICTED MEANSAddicted isn't just about catching fish.It's the dad taking his kid fishing for the first time.It's someone finally catching their first steelhead after years of trying.It's friendships that probably never would have existed without fishing.It's sharing what you've learned instead of keeping it to yourself.And sometimes, like it was for me, fishing becomes something even bigger than recreation.It becomes something positive to become passionate about.That's why introducing new people, especially kids, to fishing matters so much to me.The future of this sport depends on people being willing to teach, share knowledge, respect the resource, protect our fisheries, and make new anglers feel welcome.You never know what putting a fishing rod in someone's hand might do for their life.Fishing did that for me.And if Addicted can help somebody catch their first fish, teach an angler something they'll use for the rest of their life, bring a family together on the water, or give somebody a positive outlet when they need one most, then we're accomplishing what I hoped this would do when we started all those years ago.STILL ADDICTEDMore than 17 years later, a lot has changed.The name changed. The team grew. The trips got bigger. We developed products, built partnerships, traveled the country, opened a warehouse and store, and reached anglers I never imagined we'd reach.But the reason behind it hasn't changed.Educate. Entertain. Your deposit secures you a guided pacific northwest fishing trip at a special daily rate with an ADDICTED Certified fishing guide for $225 per person based on your selected guide and season availability. Your guide will reach out within 5-7 business days to lock in a date for your fishing adventure. Your $25 deposit will be deducted from the trip leaving only $200 per person due directly to your guide.
